Description

Start your food walk at the iconic Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. From there, make your way to the nearby Karim's, a legendary eatery famous for its Mughlai cuisine. Try their signature dishes like Mutton Korma, Chicken Jahangiri, and Seekh Kebab. After filling up at local food market, head to the nearby Paranthe Wali Gali, a narrow alley lined with shops selling paranthas (stuffed Indian flatbreads). Try the different varieties of paranthas, such as Aloo (potato), Pyaaz (onion), and Paneer (cottage cheese), along with some spicy chutneys. Next, head to Kuremal Mohan Lal Kulfi Wale, a famous kulfi shop in the area. Kulfi is a popular frozen dessert in India, similar to ice cream but denser and creamier. Try their unique flavors like Aam Panna (green mango) and Jamun (Indian blackberry). Make your way to Gali Batashan, a narrow lane lined with shops selling chaat (Indian street snacks). Try the popular dishes like Aloo Tikki (potato patties), Papdi Chaat (crispy flatbreads with potatoes, chickpeas, and chutneys), and Dahi Bhalla (lentil fritters in yogurt). End your food walk at Dahi Bhalle Wala, another iconic eatery in Old Delhi famous for its Dahi Bhalla (lentil fritters in yogurt). The dish is topped with spicy and sweet chutneys, cumin powder, and coriander leaves. Note: Old Delhi can be quite crowded and chaotic, so be prepared for a sensory overload. It's best to wear comfortable shoes and clothing, and carry a hand sanitizer and some tissues. Also, make sure to drink plenty of water and only eat at reputable food stalls to avoid any health issues.
